Alison Saunders to step down as CPS chief

The current Director of Public Prosecutions, Alison Saunders, who is due to step down as CPS chief at the end of October, is expected to receive a Dame hood in the New Year’s Honours List for her work as Director of Public Prosecutions following an automatic honour principle that is applied to her predecessors. 

However such has been vocally challenged by men falsely accused of rape, two of which have publicly pleaded for the outgoing director of Public Prosecutions to be denied following the catastrophic failures in disclosure of unused material during high profile cases which has led to a country wide review of the way in which such disclosure is handled.
